The beginning of a new era for The Sports Animal kicked off at Second Harvest Wednesday morning with The Starting Lineup and a new-look Sports 180 making their show debuts.

Tyler Ivens and Will West navigated through three-hours of morning drive that set the table for what will be a faced-paced show. The two new co-hosts discussed an article from the LA Times concerning Tennessee Basketball coach Rick Barnes and his involvement in the UCLA coaching pursuit – all from a Bruins perspective.

Later on, the personalities reacted to some harsh criticism thrown Barnes’s way from Tony Kornheiser & Michael Wilbon on Tuesday’s edition of ESPN’s of Pardon The Interruption.

The Starting Lineup unveiled the first of a rotating 6:45 a.m. feature element that began Wednesday with Cainer’s Corner – when producer Eric Cain hits on some hot sports stories outside of show programming – and sizzled through the new 7:30 a.m. feature element: Five Burning Questions.

To cap the 7 o’clock hour, Ivens and West caught up with Mike Wilson of Knox News to get this thoughts on the LA Times article and PTI’s criticism of the Volunteer coach.

Concluding the show, the two reset the topic, took fan’s feedback on the phone lines and social media and caught the audience up on what they might have missed while sleeping.
