Tennessee Director of Athletics and Hall of Fame former coach of the Volunteers Phillip Fulmer was down in Destin, Fla. this week for the 2019 SEC Spring Meetings.

While down there, the AD caught up with Jimmy Hyams for a 1-on-1 interview. During the discussion, Hyams asked Fulmer what his thoughts were on second-year baseball coach Tony Vitello and his baseball team that will begin regional play Friday against Liberty at 7 p.m. (heard right here on The Sports Animal with Voice of the Volunteer baseball team, John Wilkerson)

Here is what the former coach and current administrator said on the matter.

“I am so thrilled for him – Tony – and that baseball team. To watch how they have improved and grown – they know how to practice and know how to go about their business. They’ve just gotten better and better over the course of the season. They are still pretty youthful. I think there is a real bright future ahead… I’m really excited for them.”
