Water Rescue on Papermill Dr During Heavy Rains Tuesday

Two teen girls are okay after they were rescued from swift water Monday night. Heavy rains caused flooding in several parts of Knoxville.

Two men were waiting out the rain at McKay’s Bookstore on Papermill Drive, when they watched the girls’ car stall out and get pushed down the road. They made it out of the car, but still needed help. The men jumped in the water and brought them to safety.

Officials say dozens of roads were flooded across the city Tuesday. With more rain in the forecast officials are urging you to remember the phrase, “Turn Around Don’t Drown.”
