Carjacking Suspect in Custody After Foot Chase in Knoxville

A man wanted on charges out of Georgia is in custody after a carjacking in Knoxville. The victim reported the incident early Saturday morning around 1:00 a.m on Knotty Pine Way.

He said the suspect stole his white Honda Accord at gunpoint. Around noon Saturday, officers found the stolen vehicle and a possible suspect. Officials say 36-year-old Jeromon Lawery took off on foot, but was quickly apprehended with the help of a K-9 unit.

The victim was able to pick Lawery out of a lineup. He’s now facing charges of Carjacking and Evading Arrest. Lawery is also wanted out of Chatham County Georgia for Violation of Parole.
