Knox County Schools Return to Class

Knox County Schools are back in session Monday. Students will start the year with a half-day. Superintendent Bob Thomas will be visiting Ritta Elementary to greet students, teachers and families.

The Knox County Schools released their reopening plan. The plan includes all students and staff wearing face masks in buses and on school property. They’re also conducting health screening and thorough cleaning and sanitizing practices.

As Knox County head back to school KPD says they’re stepping up patrols. Authorities warn they’ll begin vigorous school zone enforcement through September 4th. Officers will be deployed to the dozens of school through Knoxville both before and after school to deter dangerous and careless driving.

Officers will be looking for speeding, distracted and reckless driving. You’re urged to use extreme caution while passing through a school zone.
