October 10th, 1964. Tennessee welcomes Boston College to Knoxville. It is the 2nd home game for Doug Dickey in his first year as the head coach of the Volunteers. Quarterback Art Galiffa hits tailback Hal Wantland for one touchdown and linebacker Tom Fisher picks off a pass and returns it for another. These are the first scores for the Vols on the new checkerboard pattern Coach Dickey ordered for the endzones. UT wins 16-14.
