TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced Wednesday that Tennessee redshirt freshman wide receiver Braylon Staley has been added to the watch list for the 2025 Biletnikoff Award, which annually recognizes the most outstanding pass catcher – regardless of position – in the FBS.
Staley has developed into one of the SEC’s most productive receivers during a breakout 2025 campaign. A starter in all nine games this season, he enters Week 11 ranked fourth in the league in receiving yards (703) and receiving yards per game (78.1).
The Aiken, South Carolina, native has been a consistent and explosive presence for the Vols, recording two 100-yard performances and five touchdowns during his redshirt freshman season. He has earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors twice – first in the season opener vs. Syracuse after a 95-yard, one-touchdown effort highlighted by a 73-yard scoring grab, and again after posting a career-high 109 yards on six catches against Arkansas.
Staley has shined in SEC play, notching nine catches for 97 yards and a touchdown against then-No. 6 Georgia, 10 receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown at then-No. 6 Alabama, six catches for 105 yards at Kentucky, and five grabs for 75 yards and two touchdowns most recently against then-No. 18 Oklahoma.
Staley joins teammate Chris Brazzell II on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List. He is also a member of the 2025 Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award watch list and was named to The Athletic 2025 Midseason All-Freshman Team.
