KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee football continued its College Football Playoff rankings rise this week, jumping three spots to No. 20 in the third edition Tuesday night.
The Volunteers (7-3, 3-3 SEC) are the eighth-highest ranked SEC team and second-highest ranked three-loss team. All three of Tennessee’s losses are against current CFP top 10 programs, including No. 4 Georgia (in overtime), No. 8 Oklahoma and at No. 10 Alabama.
The Vols boast the Power Four’s No. 1 scoring offense at 43.4 points per game and No. 2 total offense at 495.0 yards per contest. They have scored a Power-Four leading six defensive touchdowns coupled with 33 sacks, which ranks tied for fifth in the FBS.
Tennessee has now appeared in 21 consecutive CFP rankings dating back to Nov. 2022. The Vols were No. 25 in the initial rankings and No. 23 on Nov. 11.
Tennessee closes the regular season with back-to-back SEC tilts beginning at Florida at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday on ABC. The Vols follow that up with a Senior Day against No. 14 Vanderbilt at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 in Neyland Stadium.
