TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II has been added to the 2025 Biletnikoff Award Watch List by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation.
The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to college football’s most outstanding FBS receiver. Any player who catches a pass (wide receivers, tight ends, slot backs, or running backs) is eligible for the honor, which recognizes the nation’s top pass-catcher.
Through five games, Brazzell leads the SEC in receiving touchdowns (7), receiving yards (531) and receptions of 10-plus yards (21). Nationally, he is tied for the FBS lead in touchdowns and ranks second in yards. The redshirt junior’s seven touchdown receptions are the most by a Vol through five games in program history.
In the midst of a career year, Brazzell is averaging 6.2 receptions per game, 17.1 yards per catch and 106.2 yards per game, while recording three 100-yard receiving performances. He produced a breakout game against No. 6 Georgia with six catches for 177 yards and three touchdowns, including two scoring plays of over 50 yards. He also delivered in Tennessee’s overtime victory at Mississippi State, tallying six receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown.
Semifinalists, finalists, and the eventual recipient of the Biletnikoff Award are selected by a distinguished committee of more than 600 college football journalists, commentators, announcers, former winners, and other notable receivers.
Four former Volunteers have been named semifinalists for the award: Joey Kent (1996), Kelley Washington (2001), Robert Meachem (2006) and Jalin Hyatt (2022). Hyatt went on to become Tennessee’s first Biletnikoff Award winner in 2022.
