Gonzaga guard Aaron Cook has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.
It marks the second straight season that Cook has entered the portal. He left Southern Illinois for Gonzaga after the 2019-20 season.
Cook averaged 4.2 points and 1.7 assists in 30 games (one start) for the Bulldogs.
Though Gonzaga is losing freshman star Jalen Suggs to the NBA, five-star recruit Hunter Sallis is coming aboard to join returning starter Andrew Nembhard in Gonzaga’s starting backcourt.
Cook will be a sixth-year senior at his next stop as he received a medical redshirt after breaking his hand during the 2019-20 season at Southern Illinois. He also is taking advantage of the NCAA “free year” rule that grants an extra season of eligibility due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Cook, a St. Louis native, averaged 8.2 points and 2.5 assists in 103 games (70 starts) over three-plus season at Southern Illinois.
