The Edmonton Oilers acquired forward Vasily Podkolzin from the Vancouver Canucks for a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft on Sunday.
Podkolzin, who was selected 10th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft, had two assists in 19 games with the Canucks and 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists) in 44 games with the club’s AHL affiliate last season. He also appeared in two playoff games with Vancouver but tallied no points.
The 23-year-old is entering the first year of a two-year, $2 million deal he signed with the Canucks on April 18. In 137 career games, Podkolzin has 35 points (18 goals and 17 assists).
The fourth-round pick originally belonged to the Ottawa Senators, who shipped it and Roby Jarventie to the Oilers for Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson in July.
