Two Ohio State players face rape, kidnapping charges

Two Ohio State defensive backs were arrested on charges of rape and kidnapping late Tuesday.

Junior cornerback Amir Riep and redshirt senior safety Jahsen Wint, both 21, were booked into Franklin County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Both players have been suspended from any team activities.

The alleged incident occurred last week at the off-campus apartment the players share.

According to the police affidavit, a woman alleged she was at the apartment and began having consensual sex with Riep, but told Riep she did not want to continue. Then Wint allegedly entered the room and asked to join them before grabbing the woman by the throat and assaulting her.

The players allegedly demanded the woman attest that the sex had been consensual on a video recording and take a shower before Riep drove her home.

“We are aware that two of our students have been arrested and criminally charged,” said Ohio State spokesman Ben Johnson in a statement. “They have been suspended from all activities involving the football program. We will share more information when available.”
