The Knoxville Fire Department is Investigating What Caused a House Fire in West Knoxville

The Knoxville Fire Department is investigating what caused a fire in West Knoxville.

Crews responding to Willette Court last (Tuesday) night and found heavy fire on the front side of the home, which had spread into the upper floors. KFD crews were not able to immediately enter the home due to those heavy fire conditions. Once the fire was knocked down, crews were able to quickly battle that blaze. Crews remained on scene for several hours monitoring conditions.

The resident was treated and released on the scene for smoke inhalation. There was also a dog in the home at the time of the fire and it is believed the dog did escape.

There was not a smoke alarms in the home. KFD reminding us that smoke alarms are free to any private residence in the City of Knoxville. Residents may call 311 to schedule the Knoxville Fire Department for a free installation.
