KCSO Investigates Fatal Crash in Powell UPDATE

Powell, TN (WOKI)

UPDATE: The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Timothy Hooks is facing charges after driving drunk and leaving the scene of a fatal single-car wreck on Collier Road.

Hooks and passenger, 35-year-old April Satterfield, were traveling southbound on Collier Road at a high rate of speed when Hooks made an improper pass on a blind hill and left the road. KCSO reports the car struck a tree. Hooks fled the crash leaving Satterfield in the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

KCSO says Hooks was found on Granville Conner Road and was taken to UTMC. Charges are pending against Hooks.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash in Powell.

It happened Tuesday night on Collier Road involving one vehicle. KCSO believes alcohol may be involved.

The road was shut down for several hours while investigators and the Crash Reconstruction Unit were on the scene.
