Knox County, TN (WOKI) – The Knox County mayoral race now has its first democratic candidate.
Beau Hawk entered his name into the race on yesterday (Thursday) and will run in the democratic primary on May 5.
He grew up in Chattanooga before moving to Knoxville. He is the president of the Knoxville-Oak Ridge Central Labor Council, a member of the Ironworkers Local 384 and works as the business representative for the Knoxville Building & Construction Trades Council.
Hawk says his campaign will be focused on working families and putting them first.
There are multiple republican candidates in the race, including Kim Frazier, Larsen Jay and Betsy Henderson.
