BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Tennessee redshirt senior Kaiya Wynn has been named to the 2026 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
This marks the 28th year for the SEC Community Service Team for women’s basketball as well as for men’s basketball. All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men’s and women’s sports being chosen from 1999-2003. The SEC began this concept with a football Community Service Team in 1994.
A 6-foot guard from Nashville, Wynn graduated from UT with a degree in kinesiology during the summer of 2025. Awarded a redshirt season after tearing her Achilles tendon prior to the start of the 2024-25 campaign, Wynn is completing her eligibility in 2025-26 and pursuing a master’s degree in recreation and sport management. She has expressed an interest in studying medicine after her basketball career concludes.
Wynn has had an impact on the Knoxville community and beyond during her five-year stint on Rocky Top. A member of VOLeaders, she put servant leadership into practice by joining a service trip to Botswana and South Africa during the summer of 2024 with other Big Orange student-athletes.
Closer to home, she engaged with her teammates at Hoops For Hope, a fun day of basketball in collaboration with the Down Syndrome Awareness Group of East Tennessee. She helped build a house for a veteran with Habitat For Humanity and spent her time volunteering with Young Williams Animal Shelter, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Girls Inc, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and iCan Bike.
Additionally, she spent time stocking shelves and organizing supplies at Big Orange Pantry, supported participants at the Reach for the Summitt 5K, assisted with P.E. classes at Lonsdale Elementary School, played Kickball with Curt and Friends, distributed shoes for Samaritan’s Feet, joined in Read To Lead and donated time at Flenniken Landing.
Wynn has appeared in nine games this season, averaging 0.6 points and 1.2 rebounds. She had a season scoring high of three points vs. East Tennessee State University, and she has pulled down two rebounds on four occasions. During her career, Wynn has appeared in 103 contests, putting up 2.6 ppg. and 1.8 rpg. She has a career scoring high of 13 points at Mississippi State on Jan. 18, 2024, and a rebound best of 10 boards vs. ETSU on Dec. 20, 2021. Additionally, she is a four-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
