Knoxville, TN (WOKI) – Knoxville drivers may soon see relief from potholes as spring nears and road crews ramp up repair work across East Tennessee.
Several drivers say that rough pavement and potholes have become a daily problem on major routes.
Some say Emory Road, a state highway, from Halls to I-75 is in bad need of resurfacing.
Another problem area is Interstate 275 North and South with both sides riddled with potholes that can’t be avoided.
TDOT is expected to begin traditional paving on I-275 from I-40 to near I-640, a stretch of about 2.5 miles this year. TDOT’s plan also lists traditional paving on Clinton Highway from near Schaad Road to I-640, roughly 3 miles. Additional projects scheduled to start in 2026 in Knox County include traditional paving along Middlebrook Pike.
