ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – Several East Tennessee law enforcement agencies, including the Knox County Bomb Squad, responded to Bull Run Park Thursday after an anger pulled up more than he bargained for.
Around 2:30 in the afternoon, a fisherman found a “piece of military ordnance” along the shoreline, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. Military ordnance refers to most forms of weapons or explosives used by armed forces.
“During the response, additional items resembling military ordnance were located in the same general area,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “All items were carefully examined by bomb technicians and were ultimately determined to be inert, posing no threat to the public.”
The scene was eventually cleared and reopened to the public, according to ACSO.
