Knox County, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – Knox County has more than $5 billion in infrastructure investments it needs to knock out in order to keep things like roads, bridges and water systems up to date and advancing.
That’s according to a report from the Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.
While some projects are underway, there are several others the county needs to find funding for and start. The report, which outlined needs over a five year period from 2024 to 2029, put Knox County in the top-three when it comes to cost of improvements.
When it comes to public infrastructure, the report outlined over two billion dollars needed for transportation projects and over $260 million is needed for water improvements.
