KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) — Knox County Mayor Betsy Henderson is offering congratulations to Commissioner Terry Hill following her appointment as chair of the Knox County Commission.
In a statement released Tuesday, Henderson said she looks forward to building a collaborative relationship with Hill and the rest of the commission as county leaders address issues affecting residents across Knox County.
“I want to take this moment to congratulate Commissioner Terry Hill on her appointment as chair of the Knox County Commission,” Henderson said.
The mayor emphasized the importance of cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of county government, saying their shared goal should be improving the quality of life for residents.
Henderson said she hopes to work alongside Hill and fellow commissioners to ensure Knox County remains a desirable place to live, work and raise a family.
“I believe the mayor’s office and the commission are most effective when we work together and put residents first,” Henderson said.
Hill’s appointment places her in a leadership role on the county’s governing body, which is responsible for setting policy, approving budgets and addressing a range of local government issues.
Mayor Henderson’s statement signals a commitment to maintaining a cooperative working relationship between her administration and the commission as county leaders move forward on key initiatives and priorities.
