MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — A Knoxville man already under indictment in Knox County is facing additional charges in Monroe County following an ongoing child exploitation investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children Squad.
According to the TBI, special agents began investigating allegations in July involving convicted sex offender Jeremy Todd White, 54. During the investigation, agents developed evidence indicating White took a young girl to locations in Monroe County on multiple occasions and sexually abused her.
Investigators also reported finding evidence that White created and possessed numerous images depicting child sexual abuse material.
As a result of the investigation, a Monroe County Grand Jury returned indictments Wednesday charging White with:
- Two counts of Rape of a Child
- Three counts of Especially Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
- Two counts of Violation of the Sex Offender Registry
Authorities said White was served with the new charges while being held in the Knox County Jail.
White was previously indicted in Knox County on 16 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor as part of the same investigation.
The TBI said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Based on digital evidence collected during the case, agents believe White may have sexually abused and exploited additional children.
Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
White is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
