At around 12:30 p.m., the ambulance was slowing down to use an authorized emergency vehicle cut through in the median when a Chevrolet Tahoe rear-ended it, causing both vehicles to come to rest in the road.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 28-year-old Dylan Johnson, was charged as a result of the crash, THP said.
Johnson, along with two children in the SUV and the driver and passenger in the ambulance, were injured in the crash, according to THP.
