UPDATE (4/27/26) PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – A man has been charged after a deadly shooting outside Dolly Parton’s Stampede in Pigeon Forge.
Pigeon Forge Police say 24 year-old Evan Cogdill from Illinois is charged with criminally negligent homicide in the death of 22-year-old Jacob Inselmann.
PFPD says around 7:35 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a gunshot in the parking lot of The Stampede.
When officers arrived, they found the two men inside a vehicle. One of the men told officers he had a handgun when it discharged, striking the other man.
The victim was taken to LeConte Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The shooting remains under active investigation.
Authorities said no additional information will be released at this time.
