BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior pitcher Sage Mardjetko was named SEC Pitcher of the Week after a dominant 2-0 performance in the circle for the Lady Vols.
Mardjetko opened her week with a midweek start against Radford, tossing 5.1 innings while allowing two hits and one unearned run. She walked three and struck out 10.
The right-hander followed with an even stronger outing against No. 3 Alabama, firing a one-hit complete-game shutout – the first time the Crimson Tide had been held scoreless this season. The Lemont, Illinois, native carried a no-hitter through 6.1 innings and finished with three walks and six strikeouts to earn her 11th win of the year.
Her Game 2 victory evened the series and helped propel Tennessee to a series-clinching win Monday night.
In SEC play, Mardjetko is 5-1 with a 0.95 ERA, three complete games and two shutouts. Over 51.1 innings, she has allowed just 10 runs with 14 walks and 53 strikeouts.
The honor marks Tennessee’s fourth weekly award this season and its third SEC Pitcher of the Week selection. With Mardjetko’s recognition, she joins Erin Nuwer and Karlyn Pickens as Lady Vols pitchers to earn the accolade this year.
Tennessee will close the 2026 regular season on the road at Missouri, with a three-game series scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, April 30–May 2.
