KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) – MEDIC Regional Blood Center is teaming up with Dollywood Theme Parks to boost blood donations during the busy summer months with a special donor incentive program.
From July 20 through July 24, individuals who successfully donate blood at any MEDIC donor center or participating mobile blood drive will receive a complimentary Dollywood ticket.
MEDIC officials say the promotion is designed to encourage donations during a time of year when blood supplies often face increased demand and fewer regular donors are available.
“Summer is a great time to give the gift of life,” MEDIC said, encouraging residents to help save lives while earning admission to one of East Tennessee’s most popular attractions.
The Dollywood tickets will be provided only to successful donors. Individuals deferred from donating for medical or eligibility reasons will not receive a ticket.
Because of the popularity of the promotion, MEDIC is requiring donors to make an appointment in advance. Walk-in donations will not be accepted during the incentive period.

To help speed up the donation process, donors can also complete their health questionnaire before arriving by visiting www.medicpass.org.
The promotion will be available at all MEDIC donor centers and mobile blood drive locations throughout the region.
Blood donations collected through MEDIC help supply hospitals across East Tennessee and support patients undergoing surgery, cancer treatments, trauma care and other medical procedures that require lifesaving blood products.
