Knoxville, TN (WOKI) – A special evening for East Tennessee teens is returning this weekend as Mayor Glenn Jacobs and his wife, Crystal, host the 10th annual One Unforgettable Night presented by Kane’s Crusaders.
The event will take place Saturday, August 22, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Rothchild’s, located at 8807 Kingston Pike in Knoxville.
One Unforgettable Night is a dance party created specifically for junior high and high school students who are living with chronic illnesses and may be unable to safely attend traditional school dances or social events. Organizers say the event provides an opportunity for teens to enjoy a fun and memorable night in an environment designed to meet their needs.
The event benefits patients at Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital and is fully funded by Kane’s Crusaders, the charitable organization founded by Mayor Jacobs and his family.
Throughout the evening, students will have opportunities to win a variety of donated prizes. Giveaways are expected to include gaming systems, tickets to local attractions and entertainment venues, travel opportunities, and other gifts.
Organizers say the goal of the event is to create lasting memories while celebrating the strength and resilience of young people facing significant health challenges.
Media interviews with Mayor Glenn Jacobs and participating students age 18 and older will be available during the event.
