Sunday will mark UT’s third fall game at First Horizon Park after squaring off against Samford in 2023 and Western Kentucky in 2024.
Home of the Milwaukee Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate the Nashville Sounds, First Horizon Park was opened in 2015 and contains 8,500 seats. The park is known for a guitar shaped scoreboard in right center field. The scoreboard is 4,200 square feet, which is one of the largest in minor league baseball.
The Vols are coming off their seventh straight NCAA tournament appearance and enter Year 2 of the Josh Elander era. UT returns 13 players from last season’s regional squad and a group of 24 newcomers, which consists of the nation’s top ranked transfer portal class according to Baseball America and the No. 3 ranked high school signing class by Baseball America and Perfect Game.
Troy is coming off an historic season that resulted in the program’s first trip to Omaha. After winning the NCAA Gainesville Regional and hosting a Super Regional, the Trojans picked up their first MCWS win against Ole Miss.
Troy finished the 2026 campaign as the No. 6 ranked team by Baseball America and the NCBWA. This year, the Trojans have retooled a talented roster consisting of 18 returning players off their Omaha team, 13 transfers and five freshmen.
Sunday’s exhibition will not be streamed or televised.
