KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – A Knox County grand jury has found there’s enough evidence to indict Brent Morgan, the Deerlodge man accused of killing two people in a DUI crash the day after Christmas in 2024.
Morgan now faces five charges: two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of vehicular assault, one count of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol report claims Morgan swerved into oncoming traffic on Clinton Highway, hitting and killing the two victims. According to Morgan’s warrant, he had a recent needle mark on his knuckle and constricted pupils, signs that he had used drugs prior to driving.
Additionally, the warrant said Morgan had an “extensive” history of past drug charges. Looking into Morgan’s information with the Tennessee Department of Corrections, he’s listed as being on probation for several drug charges. His sentence runs through 2037, according to TDOC.
