Join us on Saturday, June 1st at the Knoxville Expo Center for Sports Animal SportsFest!  This indoor festival celebrates all things sports!  There will be multiple sports personalities doing Q&A’s, autograph signings and more.  Exhibitors will be on-site offering a fun-filled day for the entire family.

SportsFest has all your bases covered!  Learn, play, watch or just get your picture with a VFL or other notable sports figure.  From the novice sports fan to the diehards, SportsFest has something for everyone.

Scheduled to appear:

Erik Ainge– VFL QB from 2004-2007 and spent two seasons with the New York Jets for 2008-2010 after being drafted in the sixth round of the NFL Draft in 2008. Sports Animal host of the Erik Ainge Show Weekdays from 9a-12pm on 99.1 FM.

Bobby Scott– VFL QB from 1969-1970 and as quarterback for the University of Tennessee Volunteers, Scott was named Most Outstanding Player in the 1971 Sugar Bowl and spent 10 seasons in the NFL with The New Orleans Saints from 1973-1981.

Jayson Swain– VFL WR from 2003-2006 and NFL WR with the Chicago Bears in 2007.  He is currently 6th all-time in UT history with 126 receptions. Swain is also 13th in career receiving yards with 1,721. Jayson also hosts the Josh & Swain show on 99.1 The Sports Animal from 12p-3p as well as his podcast The Swain Event.

Kevin Simon– VFL Linebacker from 2001-2005 as well as a member of the Washington Redskins in 2006 and NFL scout for the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys from 2009 to 2016. Kevin also served as director of player development for the University of Tennessee football team and in In 2022, he became the linebackers coach and head of college scouting at Knoxville Catholic High School.

Bob Kesling– For more than 20 years, Bob Kesling has served as the “Voice of the Vols.” The Tennessee graduate and versatile multimedia host represents Tennessee Athletics in various on- and off-air capacities as Director of Broadcasting.

Bert Bertelkamp– VFL guard Bert Bertelkamp has served as color analyst for University of Tennessee basketball on the Vol Radio Network for over 20 years. Bertelkamp was a four-year letterman for the Vols from 1977-1980. He led the team in assists in 1980 and ranks ninth on UT’s all-time assists list. He was a member of the 1976-1977 SEC championship team and the 1979 SEC Tournament championship squad.

Steve Hamer– VFL center for Tennessee Basketball from 1992-1996. He was the #38 pick in the second round of the 1996 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics and appeared in 35 games (starting three) during the 1996-97 NBA season for the Boston Celtics. Steve is currently the Director of Letterwinner Relations for the University of Tennessee.

Josh Dobbs– VFL QB from 2013-2016 and NFL QB since 2017. Dobbs has been with 9 different NFL teams and is currently with the San Francisco 49ers. He is also the founder of the Astrordinary Dobbs Foundation, Inc.

Greg McMichael– VFL pitcher from 1985-1988 and former Major League Baseball player for the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Oakland Athletics from 1993-2000 and a World Series Champion in 1995 with the Atlanta Braves.

Plus, the 2021 Atlanta Braves World Series Trophy will be on site to view and for photo opportunities!
