An FBI raid in Powell has lead to charges for a Knoxville man who reportedly teamed up with a Michigan man to solicit nude images of minors online.
The raid happened on April 30 in the 7600 block of Cedar Crest Drive. The FBI said at the time they were “conducting court-authorized activity” which ended up being the arrest of Joseph Brandon.
Officials say Brandon had teamed up with Michael Bledsoe, who lives in Michigan, to pose as a young girl and convince Bledsoe’s 15-year-old relative to share nude pictures and videos.
Transcriptions of messages from platforms like Kik and Snapchat between the two men were found along with their experiences tricking others into sending them pictures and videos. One showed Bledsoe used artificial intelligence to create fake nude pictures of his relative.
Brandon was charged with conspiring to sexually exploit a child.
