Football Debuts At No. 18 in US LBM Preseason Coaches Poll

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee football will open the season ranked No. 18 in the US LBM Preseason Coaches poll that was released Monday.

The Volunteers are one of nine SEC teams ranked, and they will face three opponents in the preseason edition of the poll – No. 4 Georgia, No. 8 Alabama and No. 17 Florida. Syracuse, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Vanderbilt are also receiving votes.

Tennessee is ranked in the Coaches poll for the 48th consecutive week dating back to Sept. 11, 2022. Forty-three of those 48 weeks have seen UT land in the top 20, including 18 straight polls. The Vols finished the 10-3, 2024 campaign at No. 8.

The current Coaches poll streak is the longest for Tennessee since being ranked 92 consecutive weeks from Nov. 27, 1994 to Oct. 1, 2000.

The Associated Press Preseason Top 25 will be released on Aug. 11.

Tennessee turns the page to its second week of preseason camp that culminates with a closed scrimmage on Saturday in Neyland Stadium. The Vols open the season against Syracuse in the Aflac Kickoff Game at noon ET on Aug. 30 in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Tickets for the contest are on sale at AllVols.com.
