Rural Metro Fire officials are investigating an early morning house fire in North Knoxville.

Crews responding to the 2100 block of East Emory Road and found heavy fire in the garage that had spread into the attic.

There is limited smoke damage in the living area of the house with the garage sustaining most of the heat and fire damage.

The homeowners are out of town and no injuries have been reported.
